Book Review 1

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen is about this boy, Brian Robeson, whose parents were divorced.
Brian hated the word divorce as it meant fights, lawyers and yelling at each other. When the papers were signed, it was decided that Brian would live with his mother and during the summer or the winter holidays, he would stay at his dad's.
He took a plane on this fateful day, heading for his father's place and would be involved in a plane accident as the pilot had a heart attack. The plane was a small Cessna plane and it crashed into the Canadian wilderness.
Alone in the Canadian forest woth nothing other than his tattered windbreaker and his HATCHET, he survives using his wits, determination, resourcefulness and courage in this forest full of rare animals and plants that may even turn out to be inedible.
He survives for a total of fifty four days in the forest and a pilot found him through the emergency transmitter that Brian had activated by accident.
This is a Newberry Honor Book, ALA Best book for Young Adults, ALA Notable Children's Book and a winner of multiple state awards.

My weekend

The weekend was a nice one, starting with gruelling tuition sessions on Saturday, it was a full working day for me as I struggled to keep myself awake due to the exteme boredness of the sessions. Science, English and Maths, these three subjects can be fun and equally tiring. Sunday was more relaxing as I did tennis in the morning and the afternoon, adding to some heavy work load from tuition.

VBTS review

We were studying a book by the name of Village By The Sea by Anita Desai. It was about how the protagonist, Hari and his family lived through the hardships of life. There were mainly thirteen chapters in the book and we also did a play on chapter 10.
There were five main themes in the book and they were, Rural and Urban india, Family, Benefactors, Change and Adaptation and Poverty and Wealth.
There were twenty main characters in the book, some were Hari and Lila's benefactors while others were the ones who threatened them.
The book described and showed the true face of how the poor have to survive, through the book, we can see many things that we are not able to go through during our everyday lives.

The book that inpsired my parents

There wasn't really a book that inspired them but I remember my mother telling me about a fascinating book she read, it was called Animal Farm, a book we were about to discuss later in the year.
She told me that Animal Farm was indeed an interesting book and she was studying it when she was a student. She said that the school had used the book as an literature piece and they were supposed to study it.
Later, the teacher would then test them on the things in the book, it is similar to what we are doing now.

Summary of my reading habits

Hi everyone, it is me again, in reference to Mr S blog on reading habits, I will be going to We read .com to create my own account and I will post my top ten books of all time with some book reviews.

My reading Habits are in fact qiute perculiar, I really do not like a particular type of book, as long as it is interesting and easy to understand, or, maybe contains loads of literature, you will probably see me picking up this book reading this intently.

Reflection on Nothing But The Truth

Here I am again writing my fouth post for this blog, our teacher, Mr S had us read a book called Nothing But The Truth and all of a sudden I am here writing this blog. First of all, I would like to say that this book is in fact quite interesting and it was about a boy, Philip Malloy and how he started hating his teacher Mrs Narwin and how he was suspended for singing the star spangled banner, which of course is the United States'national anthem.(you shuld all know by now having read the book but for those who have not, well this is a piece of additional information)

The book was mainly about the story of Philip Malloy in Harrison High School and how he coped with the life there, it was also written in a different style from other books, instead, it is written from many people's point of view, and also illustrated in a way that the story is "told" from people's conversations and the school's memo's.

For those of you who have not read this book, do read it and for your sake, I will not disclose any other information regarding this book

How life seems a lot better in Sec one

As some of you might know who I am, maybe most through something which is kind of a major clue, though I assume not many no who I am as I am not really famous.

My topic for today would be, most likely something that is related to the above title, yes you may have guessed it, it is life in Sec one. Well I can tell you it is indeed great and although I cannot reveal the school, I would say that the school is good, the facilities are acceptable and the education, the teachers there know their stuff. It was actually a big change for me as you might know or experienced this that it is quite a jump from Primary School to Secondary one. The facilities in particular are better in a sense that the school knows that we are older and we appreciate this good facilities more than we did in Primary School.

What would be surprising would be wanting to turn back and look at our old memories but whats the use, we cannot change history as history is already made.
